About the Ice House Artists' Co-op

The Ice House Artists' Co-op Gallery was opened in April, 2000 in conjunction with the efforts of the Morgan Arts Council who owns the Ice House and is transforming into a responsive and creative arts center. The Artists' Co-op relies on the volunteer support of its members, and the friendly help of the docents. The artists pay a monthly fee to staff the co-op. 20% of each sale is returned to the Morgan Arts Council for use of their gallery space.

• Keep Berkeley Springs as one of the "Top 100 U.S. Art Towns".

• Broaden arts awareness

• Offer Gallery Demonstrations

• Present art exhibits in the Morgan Arts Council's Ice House Gallery

Co-op Membership Requirements

• The artist must live within a 50 mile radius of Berkeley Springs, WV or be a WV resident

• Meet the Jury Standards and be accepted as member of the Co-op

• Participate in gallery "workdays"

• Keep artwork fresh, rotating stock every 3 months

• Pay $25 / month quarterly to cover docent salary on weekends

• Payment for sales is made each month (80% to artist, 20% to MAC); sales tax is paid to artist to file taxes with WV

• Must participate a minimum of six months

• Join the Morgan Arts Council

• Work with other Artists' Co-op members to promote the professional image of the gallery
